I had always secretly dreamed of one day renovating a house in this listed neighborhood of Watermael-Boisfort.

These small houses with their colorful shutters transport us back in time. That day finally came when this young couple of artists called on Ve Atelier to support them in their project.

The challenge was to preserve the old-fashioned and authentic charm of the place while bringing in that playful and offbeat touch of modernity that so perfectly reflects its new owners.

We redid everything: opening up the kitchen, floors, electrical system, paintwork, bathroom, and restoring the original wooden flooring.

In just 3 months, the house became unrecognizable — and at the same time, as if it had always been this way. I believe that’s what makes a renovation successful: that subtle balance between new and old that respects the place while awakening it to live another story… I can’t wait to go back and take new photos of the lived-in interior 🙂
