Holy Bagels
I met Jacques, the owner of Holy Bagels, a few years ago because I often went there for lunch or to grab a coffee. When he contacted me about his restaurant expansion project, I was over the moon!
The challenge? Creating continuity with the existing space while bringing in a breath of fresh air and a touch of energy and novelty. We wanted an authentic, genuine, slightly raw place, and that very human, family-oriented approach had to be reflected in the project. The construction process brought a few surprises — but that’s part of the job too: adapting, improvising, while staying true to the original idea. The result is a success: “The Bagels Corner” is a lively spot, a true neighborhood HQ brightened by the good mood of the people who work there. Go check it out: 49–51 rue Washington, 1050 Ixelles!
